Blue-light-blocking glasses are essentially glasses which filter out part of the visible light spectrum with a wavelength somewhere in the range of 400 and 450 nanometers (nm). Blue light gets negative criticism on account of its high energy and closeness to UV light in the electromagnetic spectrum (10–400 nm). UV light has been linked to eye damage for some time, yet there is less proof to show the possible damage with visible light.
